If you’re an African American permanent hair loss sufferer, and you’re not ready or unable to have a hair transplant, HSC, or The Hair Simulation Company, may have an option for you.  They have developed techniques that realistically simulate the appearance of hair through a trade mark technique they call “Artistic Hair Simulation.”

Trying to replace permanently lost hair for sufferers who wish to wear their hair as short as possible has always been a challenge and this “micro tattooing” technique seems especially effective for these types of hair loss sufferers.

Hair transplant surgeons have also recently stepped up to the challenge of meeting the needs of those who want to wear their hair short. They’ve developed a relatively new type of hair transplant called FUE specifically for hair loss suffers who want to wear their hair very short.  FUE is an ideal solution for short hair wearers because it doesn’t leave the traditional light scar that occurs with other types of hair transplants (e.g., FUT).

However, because current technology has not yet perfected FUE for tight, curly, African American hair, micro tattooing is something you might want to look into if you have very short, tight curly hair.

Finally, not to take away from HSC’s impressive hair simulation techniques, they do make the claim that this micro tattooing technique also helps promote hair growth, but they gives no details (at least that I can find).  Because there is no known hair or scalp mechanism that I know of that suggests micro tattooing would promote hair growth, without strong evidence to back up this claim, you should probably only count on the benefits of the simulation of hair and not actual future hair growth because of the technique.
