Scalp Micro Pigmentation
What is Scalp Micro Pigmentation?
Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a procedure that gives off the appearance of thicker and fuller hair. It is the similar process of getting a tattoo but with the appearance of closely cut hairs. It gives off the impression of hair on the scalp. Although the tattoo technology has existed for years, only recently have cosmetic service providers been specifically trained in this art form that mimics the look for hair follicles.
Who is Scalp Micro Pigmentation for?
It is a great option for:
- Individuals who are looking for a non-surgical treatment
- Individuals looking to cover a scar left behind in the donor area from a traditional FUT (Follicular Hair Transplant)
- Individuals who are looking to fill in areas in the hairline
- Individuals looking to achieve the buzzed or shaved look, but who have thinning hairline
How Does It Work
Our Micro Pigmentation provider is specifically trained in using specialized tools to perform this in-office procedure. Essentially, it is several different sized needles that have various ink colors to match the color of the hairline and utilizing organic ink. Additionally, the trained specialized replicates the hairline pattern for the most natural looking effect. As stated earlier, it is like getting a tattoo but replicates your hairline.
The entire procedure usually requires about 3 sessions and is a time-consuming procedure due to the precision necessary to make this as natural looking as possible. Each session can take from 2-4 hours to complete. Also, it is important to see how the patient’s skin reacts to the inks, how the scar tissue responds, and how well the color becomes camouflaged among the rest of the hairline. While this may seem like a lengthy process, it is worth it to gain back your hairline and confidence without going under the knife.
