Tip 4 of 10 To Insure You’ll Get The Best Hair Transplant Procedure:

Be A Premium Service Hair Transplant Patient

So far, our tips cover things you can easily do to maximize your chances of getting a great hair transplant. This fourth tip, however, may involve more cost. The tip is this: pay a premium to be the only transplant patient of the day.

When you sign up for your procedure, you may find that you are one of several patients having the procedure at the same time as you that day. This means the doctor is dividing his or her time and attention between two or more cases.

This is common and we’re not critical of this process because like a dentist’s office, each patient may be at different stages in the procedure and this allows the doctor to maximize his or her  time.

However, the clinic staff or doctor should tell you if they will work on several patients at once.  However, for many reasons, you may want your doctor’s full attention and you can request to be the only patient that day.  After all, it is a surgical procedure and it is understandable to want a doctor with you at all times-or at least available at all times. This may include anything from administering the anesthesia, to placing grafts, and all the way to explaining the postoperative instructions.

However, the clinic will probably charge you a higher price for the privilege of being the only patient on that day. Is it worth it?  If you’re anxious, you’ll certainly feel more comfortable and confident. Complications during this type of procedure are rare and serious complications are even rarer. If something did happen while the surgeon was not in your room, the nature of this procedure would allow the doctor to attend to you almost immediately if something came up.

In the end, if you’re comfortable with your doctor, and if your doctor is good, and if the results you’ve seen of his or her work is impressive and you’re getting a procedure under the same circumstances, you have very little to really worry about.

Instead of worrying about all the things that could go wrong the day of the procedure, you’re far better off focusing on factors that will directly affect the eventual look of your restoration.

One of the most important final considerations is the design of your new hairline. It will probably be hard for you to realistically visualize what your new hair line will look like in a year, so  you should talk with your doctor about the design. Do not be hesitant or embarrassed to ask questions or voice concerns. We see our patients as equal partners, especially at this stage. You’re goal is to be reassured and confident about the design. That’s one of the best ways to insure you’ll be happy with your hair transplant.
